Ms. Gao Wenying

Hi there, I’m Ms. Gao. I have one year of experience (2023-2024) teaching Chinese online with Shanghai Zhixue Academy, where I accumulated over 200 class hours. My teaching primarily focuses on HSK textbooks, covering levels 1 to 6, including Pinyin, vocabulary, grammar, reading, and oral communication (HSKK). While Chinese is the main teaching language, I also use English as a supplementary language when necessary.

I am skilled at patiently explaining language points, particularly in the speaking section, and use small games to make learning enjoyable for students. I tailor lessons to each student’s progress and employ an effective closed-loop learning method in the classroom to reinforce understanding. I also work closely with international students to help them overcome challenges related to the negative transfer of their native language, ensuring ample practice to master Chinese fluency.

In addition to language instruction, I offer insights into Chinese history for students interested in cultural aspects, such as explaining how Qin Shi Huang unified the writing system, facilitating smoother cultural exchanges during the Qin Dynasty. One of my students has successfully written over 300 Chinese characters under my guidance.

Language and culture are deeply interconnected, and I take pride in sharing Chinese culture with my students, making each class a meaningful and enjoyable experience.
